Hey, I’m Jen!

I help women navigating the changes of midlife understand what’s draining them, reconnect with what they need now, and make small, meaningful changes that help them feel better in their bodies and their lives.

Because midlife can be a lot.

Your energy changes. Your body changes. Sleep can become unpredictable. Stress feels harder to shake. And you may be navigating health or hormonal changes alongside work, relationships, caregiving, an empty nest, or other life transitions.

And somewhere in the middle of taking care of everything and everyone else, you may have lost touch with yourself.

You know something needs to change. You’re just not sure what or where to begin.

That’s exactly why I created Root & Renew.

I know what it’s like to not recognize yourself.

There was a time when I barely recognized myself either.

I was navigating rheumatoid arthritis, changing energy, enormous stress, and a body that no longer felt like my own. Fatigue, pain, brain fog, and sleepless nights became part of my everyday life.

I knew something needed to change, but everything felt like it needed to change.

And I didn’t have the energy to figure it out.

Eventually, I hit a wall. A close friend encouraged me to take a leave of absence from work, giving me something I desperately needed:

Space.

Space to slow down. To listen to myself. To heal. And to think about not only how I wanted to feel, but how I wanted to live.

I made myself my next project.

For decades, I worked in product management, understanding where we were, envisioning where we wanted to go, identifying obstacles, experimenting with solutions, learning, and adjusting.

So I applied that same thinking to a new product:

Me.

I created a vision for my life and wellbeing and began experimenting with small changes rather than trying to overhaul everything at once.

I learned what supported my energy and what depleted it. I stopped expecting perfection. And instead of treating setbacks as failures, I used them as information to help me adjust.

Nature became an important part of that process, too. Hiking and spending time outside gave me a place to quiet the noise, be present, reflect, and reconnect with myself.

Eventually, I realized:

I didn’t need to get my old self back. I needed to understand the woman I was becoming.

And that realization became the foundation for Root & Renew.

Wellbeing isn’t one-size-fits-all.

My approach looks at the whole person because your physical health, stress, energy, habits, relationships, environment, values, and sense of purpose are connected.

We start by slowing down and understanding what’s happening in your life.

Then we identify what matters most and turn that clarity into practical action.

Not ten new habits.
Not a rigid wellness plan.
Not another list of things you should be doing.

Instead, we focus on small, intentional changes that fit your energy and your real life.

We experiment. We learn. We adjust.

And throughout the process, you’re in the driver’s seat. I’m there to help you see the bigger picture, ask the questions that help you find your own answers, and provide tools, support, and accountability as you move forward.

Why Root & Renew?

I believe women in midlife deserve to feel good in their bodies, their lives, and themselves.

But I don’t believe the answer is trying harder or trying to become the person you were 10 or 20 years ago.

Midlife changes us.

It can also give us an opportunity to ask some questions we may not have had the space to ask before:

Who am I now?
What matters to me?
What do I need?
How do I want to live this next chapter?

Root & Renew is about creating the space to answer those questions and then turning your answers into meaningful, sustainable change.

A little about my background

My lived experience led me to this work, and my professional training gives me the tools to support you through yours.

I’m a Certified Health Coach, Certified Perimenopause Coach, and Certified GLP-1 Coach, and my work combines evidence-informed wellness practices with a deeply client-centered coaching approach.

I’m not here to hand you a prescription for the “right” way to live.

You’re the expert on your life.

I provide the space, questions, practical tools, accountability, and support to help you discover what works for you.

And when I’m not coaching…

I’m the mom of two beautiful, amazing adult daughters and a fairly recent empty nester, although I’ve since filled that nest with a couple of adorable doodles (Una & Olive).

I enjoy spending time with friends and family, doing all sorts of crafts, and I love to laugh until it hurts (and these days, occasionally until I pee my pants a little…that part I could do without).

You’ll also find me hiking Washington’s beautiful trails, camping, or out in my garden pretending I know exactly what I’m doing.

Nature continues to teach me one of the lessons I most want women to take into midlife:

We are allowed to change.

You don’t have to figure out what comes next on your own.

You don’t need to have a plan before reaching out. Figuring out where to begin is part of what we can do together.
